Spanish ninth seed Tommy Robredo beat Italy's Filippo Volandri, the 29th seed, 6-2, 7-5, 6-1 to reach the French Open quarter-finals on Sunday.

Robredo will play either top seed Roger Federer or Mikhail Youzhny of Russia for a place in the semi-finals.
