Flanked by party MLAs from Indore (urban and rural seats) including Madhya Pradesh Minister for Public Works Department (PWD) and Simhastha in-charge, Kailash Vijaywargiya, Mahajan, popularly known as 'tai' presented her nomination papers to the district electoral officer, Mohammad Suleiman at an auspicious time.

Later talking to reporters, Mahajan expressed confidence of winning the polls. However, she said she was not taking lightly the main rival Rameshwar Patel of Congress.

Claiming that Mahajan would score a double hat-trick, her supporters said their aim would be to increase her winning margin.

Referring to reports of dull polling in the first phase of elections in other states due to `soaring mercury', Mahajan said her party workers would ensure maximum turnout in morning hours to beat the heat.

Expressing optimism about BJP's victory in all the 29 Lok Sabha seats in the state, she added that the BJP government in the state was showing good performance by effectively checking the power crisis and also organising the ongoing Simhast (kumbh mela) in the best possible manner despite shortage of time.
