The incident occurred when Krishnamma (20) went for collecting shells, her husband-Dara Ramaiah (26) noticed that his wife was drowning and jumped into the water to rescue her, they said.

When both were drowning Krishmamma's brother Tagudu Ramesh (23) jumped to rescue both, but he also faced the same fate, police said, adding that all the three were participating in Jatra in the village.
