The state government has also instructed collectors of Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bikaner and Jodhpur to intensify vigilance against bird flu breaking out in their districts. The state government has also started implementing a contingency plan, which includes collection of poultry samples from all districts.

It has also set up rapid response teams (RRTs) and enhanced vigilance on poultry farms in the state.

Animal Husbandry Secretary Rajender Bhanwat told HT on Monday that collectors of the border districts have been instructed to deploy the RRTs to check any outbreak of the disease.

"The customs authorities have been requested to check every passenger of the Samjhauta Express," Bhanawat said.
