Bonding activities to try on Mother's Day
Prerna Mehra, popular lifestyle content creator, shared with HT Lifestyle, some bonding activities that you can do with your mom on Mother's Day to make her feel loved and appreciated.
1. Cooking or baking together: This one is always fun whether you’re a natural in the kitchen or a mess. Consider choosing one basic dish, even if it’s as simple as a cake mix and adding your own magic to it to see who comes up with something better on a tight deadline! Or whip up your favourite dish together. The mess, the chaos and the teamwork are great ways to bond while creating something delicious and relishing it together.
2. Having a spa day: If you and your mom enjoy spa days, getting massages and getting your nails done together can be a great bonding experience. Even if you have different preferences for pressure and nail art, it's a fun way to spend quality time together.
3. Take a spinning class or a yoga lesson: This is a perfect way to try out a new activity that you’ve been meaning to try while getting some exercise. Or you could also go for a walk or a hike and have a nice heart-to-heart conversation while you’re at it!
4. Solving a puzzle: Spend some quality time indoors by solving a puzzle together with some cheese, wine and crackers! You can also alternate your playlists while you’re at it! This is a great way to challenge each other while distressing.
5. Having a movie marathon: Curl up on the couch with some snacks and watch your favourite movies or binge-watch a new series together. My favourite movie memory is with my mom from last year when we spent time watching movies all night, giving them our undivided attention despite choosing the wrong ones back-to-back!
6. Painting or Pottery: Sign up for a class or do it by yourself at home! This is a great way to learn something new together and explore your creative side. And maybe you can create an amazing piece for each other’s rooms as a gift to the other!
7. Going on a road trip: Take a road trip to a nearby town or city and explore new places together. It’s always so memorable to travel with your mom especially while alternating who’s driving while the other navigates!
Remember, the most important thing on Mother's Day is to show your mom how much you love and appreciate her. No matter what activity you choose, make sure to spend some quality time together (leave your phone aside!) and create memories that you will cherish forever.
