EVM glitches mar 6th phase polling in Uttar Pradesh
Voters had to wait in at least five polling stations to vote after electronic voting machines (EVMs) developed snags.
Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) glitches marred the 6th phase of polling in the Lok Sabha elections at several places in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.

At stake in the penultimate phase of the seven-phase elections are 59 LoK Sabah seats across seven states. Fourteen of the seats are in Uttar Pradesh.
A long queue of voters at Model Government Primary School polling station at Randhawa in Phulpur constituency had to wait to cast their vote after the EVMs developed glitches. Polling could start at booth number 330 at 7.30 am and at booth number 328 and 329 at 8 am after the glitches were addressed.
EVMs developed technical snags at ShahKhajura polling booth of Azamgarh, polling booth number 44 in Singaramau of Jaunpur and at a polling booth in Pindara of Machhali shahar in Jaunpur district .
Voters also had to wait at Ishwar Sharan senior division school in Prayagraj where an EVM developed a snag.
In Bengal, polling began in eight constituencies the 6th phase with long queues outside polling stations in Bengal from as early as 6 am, or in some cases, even earlier.
There were early reports of VVPAT malfunctioning in one booth in Jaypur area of Purulia constituency.
