Lok Sabha elections 2019: ‘He hasn’t faced the pain of casteism’: Mayawati hits back at PM Modi
Mayawati’s attack came in the backdrop of PM Modi’s attack on SP-BSP alliance at his Azamgarh rally on Thursday where accused the BSP and SP of indulging in caste politics.
Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati in a fresh attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his caste has said that had he been backward since birth, the RSS would not have let him become the PM.
Mayawati’s attack came in the backdrop of PM Modi’s attack on SP-BSP alliance at his Azamgarh rally on Thursday.
The BSP chief said now that PM Modi has nothing worthwhile to say against the alliance in his UP rallies, he has yet again accused it of being casteist. Mayawati said his statement sounds “ludicrous and immature”.
“How can those who themselves are the victim of casteism be casteist,” said Mayawati about herself and Akhilesh Yadav. Mayawati is a Dalit and Akhilesh Yadav is backward by caste.
Mayawati had several times said that the PM Modi was not backward by birth but certified himself so later. On Friday, she yet again attacked him saying: “Mr Modi is not backward by birth and he has not suffered the sting of casteism and caste harassment. On the contrary, he projected himself backward and openly and emphatically used it for his political gains. Had he been backward by birth, would the RSS let him become the PM? Look what treatment the RSS meted out to people like Kalyan Singh and the country knows this.”
Mayawati said that PM Modi had been saying “baseless and absurd things” against the opposition parties which makes it clear how unnerved he was and how certain he was that the country will not let him fulfil his dream of becoming the PM again.
