20-year-old gets 2 years in jail for molesting woman
The convict, Shivraj China, was fined Rs20,000 and ordered to give Rs10,000 to the complainant as compensation.
The metropolitan court on Friday sentenced a 20-year-old man to two years in jail for stalking and touching a woman inappropriately in 2016 in Andheri (East). The convict, Shivraj China, was fined Rs20,000 and ordered to give Rs10,000 to the complainant as compensation.

On May 16, 2016, the complainant, along with her sister, was on her way to work when China chased and touched her inappropriately, thrice. Defending China, his counsel Subhash Gaikwad argued that the sisters were walking along a narrow footpath and they did not know who exactly touched them.
Prosecutor Priti Jagtap informed the court that China has three other similar cases registered against him.
“The accused chased the women and repeated his objectionable conduct three times,” noted magistrate SC Pathare, terming China’s act “unpardonable.”
