The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Thursday took action against Red Chillies Entertainment, a visual effects company owned by actor Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan, in Goregaon (West), for alleged encroachment.
According to officials, the civic body demolished a 2,000 square feet of an unauthorised structure on the 4th floor of DLH Park. The movie studio had blocked access to an open terrace and set up an eatery in the 16-floor commercial centre on S V road, said a civic official.
The team, which undertook the drive, consisted of 25 officials from the encroachment and building and factory departments, said a civic official. The police provided security cover to these officials.
Chanda Jadhav, assistant municipal commissioner (Goregaon West) said, “The case was in court since July. We have taken action only after the court order came out.”
Red Chillies VFX was unreachable for comment.
