Landslide at Mumbra bypass affects traffic
Motorists going towards Thane were stuck for at least an hour on the road before it was cleared
A landslide on Mumbra bypass affected traffic towards Thane on early Tuesday morning but no one was injured.
The incident took place around 4am near Rehamania hospital on Mumbra bypass at Thane. The passersby informed the cops, who then alerted the regional disaster management.
The road was jammed for at least an hour. Santosh Kadam a senior official from Regional Disaster Management Cell, Thane, said, “As soon as we came to know, we rushed to the spot as there due to absence of enough light on the road posed as a problem. There was traffic on the road as traffic towards Thane was blocked but then later it was cleared.”
Kadam further added, “We used one pocklane machine and two JCB machines to clear the road. We were done by 5.30am and traffic flow was back to smooth.”
