Music lovers have a reason to cheer, as the city will play host to a rock festival over a period of three months. Called the Clonefest Soundcheck series, the festival will feature a total of six gigs, with the first one being held today.

Featuring bands like Them Clones, Menwhopause, Undying Inc., Indigo Children, and Plok, the gigs will be held across the city as a line-up to the finale in August. “We wanted to bring different music groups in the city under one platform for the fans,” says Surojit Dev from the band Them clones, who started the festival last year.
“The festival is not a competition. We will bring a new line-up of bands and give opportunities to fresh bands that have come up in the last year at every gig,’ says Dev.
The first gig in the Soundcheck series will kick off at Guvment discotheque in Gurgaon today with a rock performance by a new band, plok. Because the five member band doesn’t want to be stereotyped in any particular genre, they will be playing original alternative rock songs like Heaven, Like Roses and Momentary Lapse, which has a hard rock and psychedelic element.
“We are delighted to be a part of this music festival,” says Tushar Rawal, 19, lead guitarist of Plok.
The five member acoustic and alternative rock band, Menwhopause, is planning to add some spice to the evening with their popular numbers Can’t We Be Dreaming, Pickled Brain and Kaatil Sardar.
The last act of the evening, by Them Clones, will feature some of their originals numbers such as Mezzanine, The Bomb Song and All About a Heartbreak.
