Bollywood singer Mika Singh was arrested and later granted bail on Thursday for slapping a doctor, according to TV reports. The singer had allegedly slapped an ophthalmologist at a live concert in south west Delhi in April, after which a complaint was filed against him.

A case of causing hurt and wrongful restraint was filed against him at Inderpuri police station after a video of the alleged incident appeared online.

The victim Shrikant, posted at Ambedkar Hospital, had suffered some internal injury inside his left ear due to the assault.

The incident took place at a concert organised by the Delhi Ophthalmological Society (DOS) as a part of their three-day conference being held at the Delhi Pusa Institute Mela Ground in Inderpuri.

"While performing, Mika had called some of the audience on stage for an activity. During the activity, something done by the doctor irked Mika who then slapped him and handed him to the bouncers," said a police official. Mika had maintained that he slapped the doctor because he misbehaved with some women.
