"Nobody can subscribe to these allegations", Kumar said referring to Paswan's statement that he lost the elections because of "tampering and misuse of EVMs and state machinery."

Paswan was defeated by JD(U) nominee and former Bihar Chief Minister Ramsunder Das in a keenly-contested electoral battle in Hajipur.

"In the existing system of voting, there is very less chance of somebody taking resort to electoral malpractice", Kumar said.

People lined up before the polling stations across the state and voted for the state government's endeavour to "carry forward development with justice."

All these allegations were "unfounded ones", he added.
