The bonhomie was there. The spirit was there and the pledge was there in the Modern School fraternity on the occasion of Independence Day. Modern School, Barakhamba Road witnessed a plethora of activities including patriotic songs, moving speeches and a "roopak" (ballet), "Ab tumharey hawaley watan sathion" based on the valour of the soldiers who sacrifice their comfort and lives so that we can sleep well.

Vibrant dance performance's, thought provoking presentations and scintillating display by the school rock band added colour and profundity to the solemn occasion

Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan, celebrated the flavour of Independence with a special prayer, followed by a play, scripted and directed by Dramatics Society- Catharsis. The play reflected a scene of the partition of India and Pakistan, seen through the eyes of some lunatics who have been isolated due to religious differences.

Presidium Ashok Vihar paid homage to known and unknown heroes of freedom struggle on the 69th Year of independence from British. The assembly was concluded with the school song "We are the leaders, the leaders of tomorrow" which was an apt ending for the Independence Day's celebration.

Aster Public School, Mayur Vihar celebrated Independence Day by singing the National Anthem. Followed by a musical skit where students were dressed up as freedom fighters. The act left everyone mesmerized in the beat of Independence.

A skit was presented by the students of Dramatics Club in remembrance of those who fought tirelessly for the freedom of the country and those who shaped its destiny in the subsequent years with their vision and wisdom. The programme concluded with a patriotic dance.
