Photos: India's active caseload climbs to 1.7 lakh with a spike in new cases

On March 3, India reported 14,989 new cases of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) taking its active caseload to 1,70,126. According to the Union Health Ministry, Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat are contributing maximum to the daily cases. Maharashtra leads with a weekly positivity rate of 10.02%. India also entered the second phase of vaccination drive on March 1 and is now open to senior citizens and those with co-morbidities between the age group of 45 to 59.
