Accused booked for rape of minor arrested
The Amritsar City Police have arrested the accused identified as Mahinder Singh, a resident of Jai Singh Chowk near Gilwali Gate area, who was booked under sections 376/511 IPC and 3/4 Protection of Children from Sexual offence Act, 2012, a few days ago on charges of raping the minor daughter of his landlord.

A case in this regard was registered at C Division Police Station, under whose purview the area falls. In the complaint lodged with the police on the complaint of Babli, also a resident of Jai Singh Chowk and the mother of the minor girl. The complainant had alleged that the accused lives as a tenant at her house.
She had alleged that her minor daughter and son were alone at home when the accused misbehaved with her daughter. Sub Inspector Simerjit Kaur, of C Division Police Station, said that the accused has been arrested. "Further investigations are being held into the matter," she said.
