Sangrur: Woman's husband booked in 'dowry death' case

The Dirba police have registered a dowry death case against Kuldeep Singh alias Ladi, 27, of Tur-banjara village under sections 304-B and 34 IPC after the death of his wife Kirandeep Kaur alias Kirna, 26, under mysterious circumstances on Thursday.

The Dirba police have registered a dowry death case against Kuldeep Singh alias Ladi, 27, of Tur-banjara village under sections 304-B and 34 IPC after the death of his wife Kirandeep Kaur alias Kirna, 26, under mysterious circumstances on Thursday.

The case was registered on the complaint of the father of the victim woman Dev Ram, a resident of Patiala district. Station house officer (SHO) Gurbhajan Singh said, according to the complaint, Kirandeep was married to Kuldeep Singh, who worked as a labourer at Tur-banjara village.

They had been married for the past six years and had two kids - a 5-year-old daughter and a two-year-old son. He said that the father of the victim woman alleged that Kuldeep used to harass her for bringing more dowry.

The complainant alleged that, on Thursday, Kuldeep, with his brother Amandeep Singh, 22, strangulated Kirandeep with a rope. The accused are on the run.
