Is Shah Rukh Khan doing a cameo in Thalapathy 63? Here’s what we know
There have been reports that Shah Rukh Khan may do a cameo in Atlee’s Thalapathy 63, which stars Vijay as the main lead. However, a source in the film’s unit has refuted these claims.
Ever since Shah Rukh Khan met Tamil director Atlee in Chennai a few weeks ago, it was reported that the Bollywood actor has agreed to play an extended cameo in Vijay’s upcoming Tamil film, dubbed Thalapathy 63. However, a source from the film’s unit, has denied the reports.

“These reports are entirely false. Shah Rukh ji is not playing any cameo and is no way part of this project. The next schedule will begin in Delhi shortly. Any new addition to the cast will be officially made by the makers,” the source said.

Some reports claimed that Shah Rukh was going to play 15-20 minute cameo in the film. Thalapathy 63 features Vijay in the role of a football coach.
If the grapevine is anything to go by, Vijay plays a character called Michael in the film. He received training from a special physical trainer to get into the skin of the character.

There are also reports that Vijay plays the coach of a women’s team. 16 women will star as sports players in the film. The film also stars Nayanthara, Kathir, Yogi Babu, Jackie Shroff and Vivek in crucial roles. The makers recently built a football set on a budget of ₹6 crore to shoot predominant portion of the film.
The film has music by AR Rahman, who had recently confirmed in an interview that he hasn’t worked on this film’s genre in south India. “I have done this genre in Hollywood but this would be the first time in south India. Atlee is a fan of my films like Lagaan and Pele. He’s heard these soundtracks and he is musically very passionate. I enjoy working with such director who gets involved in music composing,” Rahman said in an interview to a popular entertainment portal.
