Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam not working together

Contrary to reports, Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam are not teaming up for a project, said a source. Kamal Haasan is currently busy shooting for Tamil thriller Thoongavam.

For a long time now there have been rumours that two stalwarts of Tamil films, Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam, will be working together.

However, contrary to the reports, the duo are not teaming up for a project, said a source. Kamal Haasan is currently busy shooting for Tamil thriller Thoongavam.

"Nobody is sure where this rumour came from. Kamal sir is busy shooting for his next film, and he's not teaming up with Mani Ratnam as of now," said a source close to Kamal Haasan.

Haasan and Ratnam had previously worked in critically-acclaimed Tamil crime-drama Nayagan, which was even remade in Hindi as Dayavan.

Mani Ratnam, who is basking in the success of latest hit, O Kadhal Kanmani, is reportedly going to work with Dhanush in his next.

Haasan, on the other hand, is awaiting the release of Tamil thriller Papanasam.
