Asian Games 2023 Day 9 Highlights: Ancy Sojan wins silver in women's long jump; India's medal count reach 60

Vithya Ramraj topped her women's 400m hurdles heat, with a timing of 55.42, which is also her personal best! Meanwhile, Ravi Sinchal Kaveram finished fifth in her heat with a timing of 58.62 and fails to qualify.

Inda's Niraj Verma finished 7th with a timing of 4:36.314 in the men's canoe single 1000m final. Chinese Taipei take gold, Uzbekistan win silver and Kazakhstan bronze.

Yashas Palaksha also qualifies for the men's 400m hurdles final, finishing in second position in his heat, with a timing of 49.61.

Santhosh Kumar Tamilarasan finished second in men's 400m hurdles heat 1, with a timing of 49.28, and qualifies for the final!

Jesse Sandesh only reached 2.10, but has managed to finish in ninth place, and qualify for the men's high jump final. Meanwhile, Sarvesh Kushare has also qualified, finishing in ninth positon in the qualifiers too!

Tejaswin is currently on top after the long jump event, with an best attempt of 7.37. He has 903 points, ahead of second-placed Suttisak (883).

ANOTHER BRONZE FOR INDIA IN ROLLER SKATING!

India come third in men's 3000m relay final with a timing of 4:10:128. The Indian team consisted of Aryanpal Ghuman, Anandkumar Velkumar, Siddhant Kamble, Vikram Ingale.

Mohammed Afsal Pulikkalakath comes out on top in his men's 800m heat, with a timing of 1:46:79, and qualifies! Krishnan Kumar also qualifies, comes second in his 800m heat, with a timing of 1:49:45!

India bag bronze in roller skating! Sanjana Bhatuka, Karthika Jagadeeswaran, Heeral Sadhu and Aaratju Kastury manage to get bronze in the women's speed skating 3000m. They finished the race in 4:34:861.

Tejaswin Shankar gets 7.37 in his long jump first attempt and is now on top of the men's decathlon event. He has now reached 903 points, ahead of Thailand's Suttisak Singkhon, who has 862.

In group b high jump qualifiction, Sarvesh Kushare is still on top, after clearing 2.10 in the first try! Meanwhile in group a, Jesse sandesh also clears 2.10 in his first try!

In high jump qualification group A, Jesse Sandesh has cleared 2.00 in his first attempt and is second in his group's leaderboard. Meanwhile, in group B, Sarvesh Kushare cleared 2.00 in his first attempt too!

India's Tejaswin Shankar records a personal best timing of 11.08 in the 100m race of the men's decathlon event. He is currently in the 4th spot with 843 points.

India's Atanau Das and Ankita Bhakat have lost the first set 38-39 to Malaysia in 1/8 elimination of the recurve mixed team event.

In the compound mixed event, India's Ojas Deotale and Jyothi Vennam have won the first set 40-37 in the 1/8 elimination against UAE.

Both events comprise 4 sets each.
