Earlier, India extended their dominance in women's kabaddi with a second straight Asian gold and fourth overall after a thrilling 37-34 win over 2018 champions Iran. India led 22-16 at half-time before Iran threatened a stunning fightback, reducing the gap to just one point. But defensive lapses cost them yet again, as India held their nerves in the final moments.
India lead at half-time
Half-time
Well, nobody knew it. Someone from the Indian camp called it, which is when the half-time given. India 22-16
Unfortunate for India
Sanju Devi down. She slips and they get hold of her ankle. Huge roar from the Iran players. India still lead 22-16.
Iran trail by seven points
Sanaya looks for the bonus. Not given and Iran opt for the review. Sanaya has not quite been in form in this contest. The raids have not come. Good review for Iran, but they still trail 15-22.
India lead 18-12
Another multi-point raid from Sanju Devi. She is the expert for India. Iran are in a spot of bother now. Deliberations on. Meanwhile, India's men's team are in the stands. They are cheering on. Wait...Iran are also taking a review.
India lead 18-12
First Super Raid in the game
Just as India broke free, tensions are rising in the Iranian camp. Nikita says three touches. Umpires give two. Review for the third. Two it is. India lead 15-10
First ALL OUT in the game
Bhavna Devi leading the charge and then the left cover came in. What a comeback. India 13-10
India lead 10-9
Pooja on the raid. Super tackle chance. 1 v 2 here and Pooja gets it...with some swag. India lead 10-9
India still leading
Opportunity for India, but Iran get the bonus point. It's 8-all. Nikita gets the touch and Iran down to one player.
Opportunity for India!
1 v 3 - Super Tackle opportunity again. Chance for Pooja. She goes across for the running-hand touch. Wait...NOT GIVEN. India review it. Iran player kept saying NO TOUCH.
Officials are taking a close look. Lot of deliberation going on. If the touch is successful, Iran will be down to two players. TOUCH POINT IS GIVEN!
India level score
What a defensive tackle. And it once again comes on the right corner. Saniya Marani is down. India level the score 7-7.
Iran bounce back
Super tackle opportunity for Sanju Devi...ohh that changed. Iran lead 6-5 and they have four players now. Then touch point for Iran as well.
India lead 3-1
Touch point from Pooja. Sanju Devi...in an absolute flash. She thinks she touched two players. Referee reviews it and there you go two for India.
