During a recent budget meeting, CDPR developers confirmed that they decided to reconsider the project and they would not scrap the entire project and idea altogether. During the Q&A session CEO of CD Project Adam Kicinski said, “SO this is a project which is, I would say, insourced. It’s also new to us in terms of design and format. For those reasons, it’s very big from the big production we are known for. To stay competitive, we have to keep looking for new ways to extend our franchise.” He also added, “At the same time, we need to be ready to reevaluate our original concepts, even if the development work is underway.”

At the start of this month, it was reported that the investors were taking a harsh decision on Project Sirius. Kicinski stated that it was a tough decision for them but the company felt it was a right decision. He explained that their company wanted to cut costs and buy some time for reassessment. They weren’t sure how long they could carry on with Project Sirius.

Notably, CD Projekt Red announced three new upcoming Witcher titles in October, last year named The Witcher(Untitled), The Witcher Sirius and The Witcher Canis Majoris. Project Sirius was described as multiplayer gameplay with a touch of Single-player experience just like Skyrim or Elden Ring. With these releases on hand Kicinski hinted that they are working on a new Witcher trilogy last September. Additionally, CDPR collabed with Fool’s Theory for the original Witcher remake which will be based on Unreal Engine 5.
