Alok Verma, the first CBI director to be removed on corruption charges, refused to take up his next assignment and resigned from service on Friday. Verma, who was not allowed to represent before a three-member committee, said “natural justice was scuttled and the entire process was turned upside down in ensuring that the undersigned is removed from the post of the Director”.
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chief K Sivan said the target is for two unmanned missions to space is December 2020 and July 2021. “The target for a manned mission to space is December 2021,” he said. The cabinet today approved plan to send indians to space. Three Indians will be sent to space by 2022. Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad approved the Rs 10,000-crore plan.
