3D imaging - KGMU docs make artificial hand, gift confidence to woman

Doctors at King George's Medical University have recreated the right hand of a 23-year-old woman who lost all her fingers in an accident, using 3D imaging and silicon. In a separate case, the university's maxillofacial prosthetic unit also reconstructed the face of a 56-year-old teacher who lost most of his right face, including his eye, upper jaw and teeth, to Black Fungus. Both prosthetics were made using 3D printing.
