There are several influencers who promote the notion that clothing doesn’t need to be bound by gender. One such share by Instagram user Sameer Khan has created a buzz. The video shows two men dressed in skirts travelling in Delhi Metro. The video also captures the reactions of their co-passengers.

The video opens to show a text overlay that reads, “Wore skirt in Delhi Metro.” The video then shows two men wearing skirts and getting on a metro. One of them is seen wearing a denim blue skirt with a blue t-shirt. The other person is seen wearing a peach-coloured t-shirt with a black skirt. They completed their looks with bead necklaces and sunglasses. The video goes on to show how other travelers reacted to the men dressed in skirts.

The video was shared on April 16. Since being posted, the clip has accumulated more than seven lakh views and the numbers are increasing. Additionally, the share has received close to 69,000 likes. People posted various comments while reacting to the video.

Here’s how Instagram users reacted:

“It's comfortable, stylish & super versatile. Don't see why everyone shouldn’t wear it,” shared an Instagram user. “Lungi is okay but skirts are not? I don’t understand, they literally serve the same purpose,” posted another. “And, killed it!” praised a third. “So lungis aren't wrap-up skirts? Surprising how people look at the outfit differently because of the cloth. Denim is also cotton btw,” commented a fourth. “You guys nailed it… I guess clothes should be normalised… if we girls wear pants then why can’t boys wear skirts… people in southern India wear lungi and skirts and lungis are similar,” expressed a fifth. “Ending stereotypes,” wrote a sixth.
