Cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle dons a traveller’s hat for a new TV show.

Television anchor and cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle says he always regretted not being able to truly explore a place even after travelling across the globe for work. But now, it’s his work that’s making him visit places — like a traveller.

Bhogle, a self proclaimed “reluctant traveller”, will be seen exploring India for Discovery Channel’s new show Travel India with Harsha Bhogle. “This is an amazing experience to see your country, but in a different way,” he says.

And different it is. “It was fascinating to explore the poster-making industry in Chennai,” says Bhogle, who also loved the Sundarbans and Pondicherry. The show also brings him to the Capital, where he explores a fairly different, and emerging, side of the city. “Delhi is fast becoming the fashion capital, which is quite interesting,” he says. And what about his own new look? “Well, I don’t think I fall in the ‘good looking’ category,” he replies quickly.

Talking to Harsha without a mention of cricket is difficult. So, whom is he placing his money on for IPL? “It’s fairly difficult to say. The team playing fearless cricket will win.”
