Actor Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya will be celebrating her first Karva Chauth after marriage with husband Vivek Dahiya today. While many husbands practice the day-long fast with their wives on this occasion, she doesn’t want Vivek to do this.

“He wants to fast, but I haven’t asked him to do it. I don’t want him to. He works very hard in the gym and needs to eat well. Vivek is a fitness freak and going to the gym is an important activity in the day. Fasting requires a lot of energy and takes a lot of patience,” says Divyanka, who tied the knot with Vivek in July in Bhopal.

Divyanka, who met Vivek on the sets of their daily show, is excited about the festival and will be in Mumbai on the big day.“I don’t know much about the exact rituals of the festival. Whatever I know is through films and television. But I don’t want to make any kind of mistake because it is my very first Karva Chauth. I will seek guidance from my mother-in -law and have already asked her send me sargi (an assortment of gifts, eatables and jewellery). I will also ask my mother about the ritual and it’s importance,” says the actor.

Asked if the couple will celebrate the festival together, Divyanka says, “Yes. Vivek and I will be together in the evening and celebrate the special day.”
