Afghan President's brother Wali Karzai shot dead

Ahmed Wali Karzai, the younger brother of the Afghan president Hamid Karzai was shot dead in Kandahar on Tuesday. According to reports, Wali Karzai was shot by his bodyguard in his house in Kandahar. Wali, head of Kandahar's provincial council, was long a deeply controversial figure in Afghanistan, dogged by allegations of unsavoury links to Afghanistan's lucrative opium trade and private security firms.
