Cauvery dispute can be resolved by mutual cooperation: K’taka governor
Karnataka governor, Hans Raj Bharadwaj has called for a mutually beneficial arrangement between Karnataka and neighbouring Tamil Nadu, to resolve the Cauvery river water dispute. Speaking to mediapersons in Bangalore, Bharadwaj said that leaders of both states should sit together and chalk out a plan that would suit their needs, without taking the route of agitation. Even as a delegation of Karnataka ministers met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to resolve the ongoing dispute today, BJP General Secretary, Ananth Kumar, insisted that the state was not in a position to share the water with Tamil Nadu, due to drought threat looming over it.
