Chandigarh boasts of an exuberant proto-historic heritage

Chandigarh, a city known for its marvelous town planning, has a unique distinction of having been built on the Harappan civilization belt. The civilization belt boasts of excellent metropolis planning 5000 years ago. The present city planned by renowned Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier and others is known for its grid pattern of planning, a feature also shared by Indus Valley civilization.
