Experts urge India to up the ante on Pak

Defence experts urged the central government to lodge a strong protest against Pakistan after five Indian soldiers were killed in an attack on their post along the disputed border with Pakistan in Kashmir. The killings caused an uproar in the Indian parliament as lawmakers demanded an explanation from the government. India's Defence Minister, A. K. Antony said that the attack on Indian soldiers was carried out by about 20 heavily armed men dressed in Pakistani military uniforms. Late last month, Pakistan's new government led by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif proposed dates for talks and New Delhi had been preparing a response.Condemning the attack, former director general of police of Jammu and Kashmir, M. M. Khajuria said that India's response to such incidents has been very routine, which is a worrisome trend. Defence Expert P N Hoon also stressed on the need for the central government to gets its facts rights and develop a strategy to combat such attacks.
