Govt removes curbs on sugar to clip output swings

After months of debate, the cabinet has decided to remove curbs on domestic sugar supplies. While disclosing this to media persons in New Delhi, central minister of consumer affairs, food and public distribution system, KV Thomas said that with this move, India, the world's second-biggest sugar producer is hopeful of ironing out sharp swings in output that have triggered volatility in global prices.
