Jairam calls for balance between coal mining, protecting forests

Amidst concerns over global warming and carbon emission India's Minister for Environment and Forests, Jairam Ramesh met Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal in New Delhi on Thursday, and laid importance on striking a balance between protecting our forest and increasing coal production. India has 10 percent of the world's coal reserves; the biggest after the US, Russia and China.
