Police and paramilitary forces arrested four Maoists in Chhattisgarh. According to officials, they were picked up by the state police and the Border Security Force (BSF) during routine search operations in Kanker district of the state on Friday. The arrested rebels were presented before a court on Saturday and sent to jail. They were allegedly involved in cases of murder, robbery and extortion. The Maoists have spread into the rural pockets of 20 of India's 28 states.
