Iran has criticised Donald Trump’s response to its proposed seven-point plan concerning the Strait of Hormuz, describing the US position as insufficient and raising fresh doubts about a diplomatic breakthrough. The outcome could have major implications for global shipping, energy markets and Middle East security.
