Jackie Shroff’s mystery outfit at HT Most Stylish

Updated on Mar 25, 2017 12:21 pm IST

The crème de la crème of the city walked the red carpet at the venue: Chef Saransh Goila, TV host Manish Paul, singers Alka Yagnik and Kailash Kher and actor-model Esha Gupta were among the first ones to reach. Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff, too, walked in with his typical swagger. He looked dapper in a black bandhgala jacket, a scarf fashioned as a bow-tie around his neck, and a stylish horn-rimmed, tinted glasses. Yet, when asked what, or 'who' he was wearing – the celebrity slang for the designer who has designed the particular outfit – Shroff, in his signature 'bhidu' style, said he had no idea. “I seriously have no idea what I am wearing. These are my riding shoes, which I wear whenever I wish to. The jacket is a gift from my friend, Deepak. He sent it from Pune for tonight. These pants are a gift from my Kitchen gang,” he said.

And so we found one in an old nook of Old Delhi. The 34 year-old roadside shop belonging to the Qureishi family, has a long history to it. The Qureishi family sold papayas in a corner of Old Delhi. Then one day, Fahimuddin Qureishi decided to set up a grill for seekh kababs near Chitli Kabar. His son, Moinuddin, carried on with the business for 34 long years. Now Moinuddin's sons, Mohammed Imran and Abid Qureishi, have expanded the business and now sell, apart from the famed kababs, biryani in an eatery called Sangam right there.
