Social media giant WhatsApp filed a lawsuit in the Delhi High Court on May 25 against the Modi govt’s new digital rules. While its parent company Facebook said that it will comply with the new IT Rules 2021, WhatsApp has filed the case saying the laws would compel it to break privacy protection to users. As the government is firm on its stand of bringing in the laws that impact social media and OTT platforms, differing views are emerging from users, political parties and cyber experts.
