PM Modi apologises after Women’s Quota Bill defeat? Blames opposition for blocking historic reform

A day after the historic Women’s Reservation Bill crashed in the Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a blistering attack on the Opposition, accusing them of “betraying” India’s women and “celebrating their defeat.” In a fiery address, he claimed the amendment would have boosted seats for women nationwide but was sacrificed for “petty politics.” Modi vows the NDA will still deliver women’s reservation by 2029 and warns that parties who blocked the bill “will pay a heavy political price” as India’s Naari Shakti “will not forget.”
