PM Modi's emotional appeal to diaspora in Kuala Lumpur underscores shared dreams of viksit Bharat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) will soon be launched in Malaysia during his two-day visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties. Addressing the Indian diaspora, PM Modi highlighted initiatives like expanding OCI card eligibility for Malaysian citizens of Indian origin up to the sixth generation and introducing the Thiruvalluvar Scholarship. He thanked Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for his warm welcome and emphasized deep cultural and economic ties between the two nations. Calling the Indian-origin community a “living bridge,” PM Modi underlined shared traditions, language, food, and the popularity of Indian music and cinema in Malaysia.
