US President Donald Trump decried his impeachment trial. Trump called the impeachment attempt a 'hoax'. Trump commented on the trial on World Economic Forum sidelines. The impeachment process has reached the US Senate. Trump's Republican party is in majority in the Senate. On Day One, the Senate adopted rules for the trial. The marathon session went on for nearly 13 hours. Republicans & Democrats argued over summoning of witnesses. Democrats failed to secure the right to obtain White House files. Republicans also blocked a bid to subpoena Trump's ex-aide John Bolton. Both sides now have 24 hrs, spread out over 3 days, to argue their case.
