Watch | Pakistan’s ‘debt’ brides

Activists say women in Pakistan are often taken as payment for a debt, to settle disputes, or as revenge if a landowner wants to punish a worker. Ameri Kashi Kohli, a Hindu, who alleges her daughter, Jeevti, was abducted by a Muslim called Hamid Brohi, who forcibly converted her to Islam and then married her despite her being underage to settle a debt. Jeevti's mother says she has been threatened by both the police and the man who took her daughter.
