Body-camera video shows Officer Zach Helbach of the Eagle Police Department responding to a report of a mother duck squawking into a sewer grate where her ducklings were trapped.After lifting the metal grating - and under the mother duck's watchful eye - he uses a plastic bin found in the trunk of his patrol vehicle to scoop a few ducklings out of the sewer water. But some of the ducklings started swimming away further into the sewer, a spokesperson for the Ada County Sheriff's Office told Reuters. Helbach moved up the street to a manhole to catch them, they said. Helbach can be heard soothing the ducklings and their mother as he works in the video. All of the waterfowl were retrieved from the sewer, according to the office.The Ada County Sheriff posted the video to social media accounts, dubbing Helbach their “duck liberator.” The city of Eagle's police department contracts with the county sheriff.
