US President Barack Obama is speaking on the third and last day of the Democratic National Convention. Below are the live updates:

- This nation has been tested by war, recession. I stand here more optimistic about future of America than ever before

- Michelle has made me a better man and father, inspired our nation as First Lady and has somehow not aged a day

- Through diplomacy, we shut down Iran’s nuclear weapons programme:

- We declared that health care in America is not a privilege for a few, it’s a right for everybody

- This is not your typical election. It’s not just a choice between parties, it’s a more fundamental choice

- I see Americans of every background and faith who believe we are stronger together

- We all pledge allegiance to the same flag of this big, old country that we love

- Until you’ve sat on that desk, you don’t know what it’s to manage a global crisis, or send young people to war

- Howsoever much people try to knock her down, she never ever quits. That’s the Hillary I know and admire

- There’s never been a person as capable as Hillary Clinton to serve US as President; not me, not Bill

- Donald Trump is not really a ‘plans’ or ‘facts’ guy

- Don’t boo, vote

- Does anyone believe a man who’s spent his 70 yrs on earth w/no regard for working people, could be their champion?

- She (Hillary Clinton) is fit and she is ready to be commander in chief

- America is already great and strong. I promise this does not depend on Donald Trump. It does not depend on any one person

- We’re not a fragile, frightful people

- Our power doesn’t come from some self-declared speaker who thinks he can save us

- The capacity to shape our own destiny is our birth right

- America has never been about what one person says he can do for us but what can be achieved by us together

- Democracy doesn’t work if we constantly demonise each other

- The American dream is something no wall will ever contain. This is something Hillary knows

- When we change enough minds, progress does happen

- Democracy works, America. But we gotta want it. Not just in election years, but all the years in between

- We all need to get out and vote for Democrats and then hold them accountable until the job is done

- Hillary has been accused of everything you can imagine, and somethings you cannot. She has made mistakes, like us all

- Democracy isn’t a spectator sport. America isn’t about ‘Yes she will’. It’s about ‘Yes we can’

-Home-grown demagogues will always fail in the end. THAT is America

- Tonight I ask you do for Hillary Clinton, what you did for me. Even if the road is long. I’m ready to pass the baton

- Reject cynicism and fear; elect Hillary Clinton as the next President of United States of America. Thank you for this incredible journey. Let’s keep it going.
