A Facebook post suggests that there has been a road rage shooting in the parking lot of MØDE Stadium Stateline Speedway in Post Falls, Idaho. Facebook user Jay Timbers shared a photo appearing to show a woman in handcuffs. However, it is unclear if she was involved in the shooting.

What we know about the incident

“There appears to have been a road rage shooting in the parking lot of MØDE Stadium Stateline Speedway here in Post Falls. The Kootenai County Sheriff says there's no danger to public or event participants and they have an individual related to the shots fired in custody. This picture depicts a woman in handcuffs however it is not known if she was involved in the shooting or is being detained for something else unrelated,” Timbers wrote on Facebook.

Timbers added in a comment, “According to Sheriff Norris one individual is deceased and one person has been detained in a road rage shooting incident. He has asked the public to please avoid the area.”

Krem 2 also reported that a man was shot dead near Stateline Speedway in Kootenai County on Saturday night. According to the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office (KCSO), they got reports of a shooting at 7:10 pm.

At the time of the shooting, law enforcement was already in the area because of the Lantern Festival being held at the speedway near Post Falls. Authorities detained the suspect, who was driving out of the area. Responding officers found a man dead.

KCSO believes that the shooting may have stemmed from a dispute as people were leaving. The suspect reportedly even attempted to drive through the crowded area. The investigation was active as of Saturday night.

KCSO officials announced that there is no ongoing threat to the public. The suspect is now being interviewed by investigators.

“This remains an active investigation and information released at this stage is preliminary,” KCSO Lieutenant Mark Ellis stated. “The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office asks the public to avoid the area, as North Beck Road remains closed while investigators continue processing the scene.”
