Anand Bakshi returns to the silver screen

Late lyricist Anand Bakshi is set to make a comeback of sorts with debutant director Narayan Singh’s film, Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai.

Late lyricist Anand Bakshi is set to make a comeback of sorts with debutant director Narayan Singh’s film, Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai. Produced by Ashim Samanta, who is the son of the legendary film-maker Shakti Samanta, the film’s title song will feature unreleased lyrics penned by Bakshi. Ashim has purchased the rights to the song from the celebrated lyricist’s son Rajesh Bakshi.

“We are delighted to acquire the rights for Anandji's lyrics. Pyar Karna Na Tha will be the title track of our film and we are sure that the audiences will love this song,” says Ashim, who is launching his son Aditya Samanta, along with actor Sanjay Dutt’s niece Nazia Hussain, in the film.

The movie’s music director Anu Malik is equally elated to set Anand Bakshi’s lyrics into his tunes.

“I immediately loved the lyrics Ashim showed me. That is when he revealed that Anand Bakshi had written them. Anandji will always live in our hearts through his music. I shared a very close equation with him and it delights me to continue composing his lyrics. Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai is a passionate love saga and you need words that emote to do it full justice. Anandji’s songs are a perfect fit. I am glad we got the required permissions,” says Malik.
