Varun would make the best Flash: Alia

Actor Alia Bhatt cannot seem to get enough of her favourite superhero, The Flash. Besides reading the comic books and watching the show, Alia now has a name in mind for ­someone who can play the superhero if ever a Bollywood film is made on him.

Actor Alia Bhatt cannot seem to get enough of her favourite superhero, The Flash. Besides reading the comic books and watching the show, Alia now has a name in mind for ­someone who can play the superhero if ever a Bollywood film is made on him. She feels that actor Varun Dhawan, who she was last seen with in Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania (2014), would be apt for the role.

“If I had to cast an Indian actor for The Flash, I think it’ll be somebody who has a lot of energy — and that would be Varun!” says Alia, who will soon be seen co-hosting a show with filmmaker Karan Johar. KJo, however, says that he has another name in mind. “From Hindi cinema perspective, as Flash, I would totally cast Farhan Akhtar. I think no one runs like him, we all know that,” he says.

Alia and Johar have workd together in the actor’s debut film Student Of The Year (2012), and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. In fact, Johar has cast her in his next ambitious project, Shuddhi, too. And Alia says that she loves working with Johar. “Working with Karan is amazing, just being around him is amazing. Because we have such a beautiful relationship, it just comes across whether we’re in front of the camera or behind the camera. So we are just ­ourselves,” she says.
