How wholesale numbers reflect real demand

While these figures represent wholesales rather than retail registrations, the numbers remain closely aligned with actual customer demand. Maruti Suzuki has stated that its dealer inventory levels are typically maintained at just two to three days, limiting the gap between factory dispatches and retail deliveries.

In calendar year 2025, Maruti Suzuki also reported its highest-ever annual volumes, with wholesale sales of 18,44,169 units and retail sales of 18,71,508 units. December played a key role in this performance, with the company recording its highest-ever monthly wholesales and retail sales during the month.

Segment-level data shows that growth during the year was spread across categories. The mini segment recorded strong gains, while compact cars and utility vehicles also posted healthy increases. CNG vehicles accounted for a growing share of volumes, with CNG retail sales during the year nearing the 7 lakh mark.
