The search varies from time to time and for the month of May, education topped the chart as it was the month for various results and different admission dates were out, he added.
Following the search for education, the other sought after topics were information on travel and yoga for health fitness. The officials related these search trends to the holiday season. Residents were glued to internet looking for travel destinations and making related plans, also there were others who were indulging in yoga exercises, said the officials. Among travel destinations maximum users checked out destinations like Shimla, Manali and Goa.
Net baking was the fourth most searched topic. The trend revealed that the city is hooked to online shopping and makes payments through net banking. The officials added that this reflects that people are looking for a convenient yet secure option to conduct their day to day banking activities as they are always on the move.
Menon said the core objective behind compiling this study was to understand the impact internet has on the city population, on their day to day life.
