Stating this here on Tuesday, a spokesperson for the chief minister's office said a decision to this effect had been taken at a meeting with a delegation of the Handicapped Welfare Union led by its state president, Mangal Singh Gill, at the level of the CM's principal secretary SK Sandhu and secretary, local government, Ashok Kumar Gupta.

On Sandhu's assurance, the association announced to call off its ongoing strike and thanked the state government for acceptance of its long pending demand, the government spokesperson said.
