Karnataka CM to hold meeting with officials over spike in state's Covid cases

The meeting would be held at 5 PM in the Vidhana Soudha, the seat of state legislature and secretariat, the Chief Minister's Office said in a statement on Sunday. For the first time since January 22, the daily Covid-19 cases in the state crossed the 900 mark.

Recoveries outnumbered new cases, with 992 people being discharged from hospitals, as against 921 infections. Karnataka has been witnessing a rapid rise in cases since March 8, when it logged 436 cases.

According to the health bulletin, so far 9,35,772 people were discharged cumulatively including 351 today. There were 6,862 active cases in the state which includes 115 in the ICU, the department added.
